Facebook Flyer – Need your input

October 30, 2007 · 11 Comments

Hi Folks,

This is the facebook flyer I want to put out. I had to put it here, as FB will not let me upload the screenshot, but it is what it will look like.

For those of you who don’t know, Facebook Flyer is like an ad that gets distributed out randomly to people to login to Facebook. I pay for these clicks, but I have to do something since I cannot donate or vote as I am Canadian – but I have to do something!

Ron Paul is that important. Let me know what you think (it links to www.thisnovember5th.com):

Draft Facebook Flyer

Here is another one that I just made on October 31 (thanks to Taimoor for the help!):

I think this is excellent!! You’re doing a great job as a Canadian… The word needs to get out about Ron Paul. Is the only way for people from other countries countries to donate by giving the money to someone else and then that person donating it??

    Thanks Katie,

All I can do is answer by quoting you what it says on http://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate

    3. I am making this contribution (and paying this credit charge) with my own personal funds, and I am not using funds provided by any other person or from any corporation, labor union or national bank to make this contribution.

    So technically, no.

    Cheers!

I would really encourage you to leave off the blood-soaked “V.” While I understand that some people see it as a rallying point, others (including me, personally, and *particularly* the traditional Republican base we’d like to try to harness) see it as frightening and a threat of violence.

How about using one of those inspirational pictures of Paul looking bravely off into the distance or something?

Betty, I appreciate it, but the V (if you have seen the movie) is not “blood-soaked”, but it is the colour of spray paint, used in the movie – I guess red was one of the better colours. Does it really inspire blood soaked visions? Anyone else see that?

    Thanks!

You should make use of this logo:

Instead of the V for Vendetta logo.

    Otherwise, looks great!

Looks good. Way to represent for Canada! Woot Woot!
If it gets really expensive for you let me know, cause I’m a Canadian who wants to make a contribution to this campaign as well. I can’t promise much as I’m still trying to finance my post secondary education, but I’d be more than happy to contribute as much as I can.

I like what you wrote on the top part “A canadian paid for this flyer.” But the image is not easily discernable. The image you got there was created for internet explorer windows which is about the size of a monitor screen.

I would suggest putting up something different that could easily be visually discerned (saying something simple like “GOOGLE RON PAUL” would work).

    continued….

…or a mask of V for Vendetta would work. Just make it simple and easily discernable because you don’t have a lot of pixels to work on.

Ah, this new one is much better! :-)

Although I respect you and thank you for stepping up and making the flyer, I think you should leave off the “Paid for by a Canadian.” It’s not that I don’t like Canadians, it’s just, Americans may not look at it the same way, because a Canadian has to buy a flyer on facebook to help America’s political system out. It’s really hard to word, but I think I got my point across.
